A New Years Message From your Vice President
My Brothers of Alpha,
Happy New Year! I pray each of you had a wonderful time bringing in the New Year. I thank each of you who sent an e-mail, card and/or a text wishing my family and I Happy New Year and all the best in the coming year.
This year, we are preparing for another exciting year with great promise and vision for the future of our great fraternity and the Western Region. Oh how great is the name Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.!
I am reminded of the Call of Abram in Genesis 12:1-31 The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
Despite what others may say or believe, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, is extraordinarily blessed. God gave our seven Jewels a great vision. The name, colors and all of its principles were intentional. Our contributions and impact on humanity are enormous on a national and local level where communities and lives are changed.
As we celebrate this new year, let us remind others our name was made great, those who upholds the ideals are blessed, and as such we have been a blessing to so many. Just as God blesses those who bless others, He curses those that curse others. Isn’t it good to know as a brotherhood, others can be blessed through each of us.
So as we prepare for a New Year, let us stand and be a blessing to our fraternity and to others. Let us be mindful that Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. is larger than any one brother.
We must be mindful about the tremendous blessings bestowed upon our fraternity and this brotherhood. We are not perfect, but it is good to know we are blessed and highly favored.
Brothers, I pray you live everyday as if it’s a holiday, being thankful and spending time with family, love ones and becoming better brothers, husbands, fathers, uncles, friends and most of all better men. Wishing you all the best this new year. I thank you for your support and commitment.
